Empowering Refugees and People Seeking Asylum to Manage Their Money with Confidence

Adjusting to life in a new country often means facing an unfamiliar and complex financial system, which can lead to financial exclusion and vulnerability.

Research by the FCA found that uncertainty about the future can limit people’s long-term planning and decision-making. Those awaiting decisions or stability may not consider the longer-term benefits of a bank account or financial products and many will not have access to a bank account at all.

We believe that everyone should feel confident managing their money, no matter their circumstances or budget. We partner with organisations across the UK to provide training, information and support to refugees and people seeking asylum, so they can feel confident and hopeful about their financial futures.

What Our Workshops Involve

We offer a tailor-made programme of 4 Financial Wellbeing Workshops, originally developed with The Refugee Council, available fully funded (free of charge) for any charity or community organisation working with people from a refugee background or seeking asylum. We also run the programme on behalf of a number of Local Authorities.

Our Workshops help participants build confidence and practical money skills for life in the UK.

You can book a single Workshop or the full series of 4. Each 2-hour Workshop is suitable for up to 20 attendees and can be delivered face-to-face or virtually, with or without interpretation. Interpretation services and associated costs are the responsibility of the organisation booking the Workshops. The Programme breakdown is as follows:
