Financial Education Teacher Fellowship

Become a Financial Education Lead in Your School

The Financial Education Teacher Fellowship is a new programme launched by The Money Charity for school teachers, including primary, secondary and sixth form college teachers, who want to strengthen Financial Education in their schools and help young people develop essential skills for life.

Supported by the Aberdeen Group Charitable Trust, the Fellowship will bring together 40 teachers across two cohorts, one in the North and one in the South. Through professional development, peer learning, bespoke consultancy, project funding and ongoing support from The Money Charity, Fellows will develop the knowledge, confidence and skills to champion Financial Education and turn their ideas into action.

The Fellowship is designed not only to develop individual teachers, but to build lasting Financial Education capability within their schools. Fellows will also learn alongside other teachers, sharing ideas, challenges and practical approaches to strengthening Financial Education. Where opportunities exist, Fellows will be encouraged to share their learning and influence Financial Education more widely through MATs, school networks and other professional communities.

What You'll Receive

Training and professional development, bespoke consultancy, project funding, three free Financial Education workshops for pupils in your school, peer learning and ongoing support from The Money Charity.

Who Is It For?

There is no single starting point. Your school might be beginning its Financial Education journey, or you might already be delivering Financial Education and want to make it more targeted, coordinated or embedded.

Teachers from all subjects and year groups are welcome. You don’t need to be a Financial Education expert or have a fully developed project. We’re looking for teachers who are committed to strengthening Financial Education and have the opportunity to champion change in their school.

The Fellowship is primarily aimed at teachers, but we’re also open to applications from non-teaching staff working in schools who have the opportunity and support to lead and strengthen Financial Education within their school, and can demonstrate this through their application.

The Fellowship Journey

Learn. Build your knowledge and leadership skills through an in-person Launch Day and three online development sessions.

Develop. Work with The Money Charity through bespoke consultancy and project funding to turn your ideas into a realistic approach for your school.

Deliver. Put your learning into practice with ongoing support and three free Financial Education workshops for your pupils.

The Fellowship Guide below outlines the programme in more detail, including what you’ll gain from taking part, the Fellowship journey, key dates and commitments, and what we’re looking for in Fellows.
