The Money Charity, the UK’s Financial Capability charity, has partnered with global asset manager, Capital Group, to launch the Financial Wellbeing Fellowship. The Fellowship will build the capacity of charities in the UK to offer bespoke Financial Wellbeing support to the community members that they serve.
Today, 20 Fellows representing 12 UK charities start their journey: 10k Interns Foundation, Black Equity Organisation, Da’Aro Youth Project, Depaul, Mary’s Charity, Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation, Trust for Developing Communities, Tower Project, The Baytree Centre, Urban Synergy, Young Gloucestershire and 100 Black Men of London.
During the three-year initiative, the Financial Wellbeing Fellowship will create a network of 60 charities and approximately 100 Fellows who will be empowered and supported to champion Financial Wellbeing initiatives within their organisations and communities they serve. Together, they are expected to reach tens of thousands of people over the three-year period and beyond, helping to embed financial confidence and resilience across the UK.
Fellows from those charities will enhance their skills in providing support and guidance around money, embed their learnings in the wider work of their organisations, design Financial Wellbeing offers that meet the needs of their community members, and develop best practice.
Michelle Highman, CEO at The Money Charity, said:
“We are delighted to be launching this partnership with Capital Group, which reflects a shared commitment to improving Financial Wellbeing and confidence across our communities. By combining Capital Group’s expertise and long-term approach to investing with The Money Charity’s experience in delivering practical, accessible financial wellbeing training and money guidance, we can work alongside grassroots charities and community organisations to reach people who may otherwise struggle to access trusted financial support.
This partnership will help us support individuals and families facing real financial challenges, equipping them with the skills, confidence and knowledge to make informed decisions and build greater financial resilience. We are excited about the positive and lasting impact we can achieve together with Capital Group, for both the charities we work with and the people they support.”
Alexis Rosenblum, Global Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility at Capital Group, said:
“We are delighted to partner with The Money Charity to expand access to financial capability for UK charities, empowering them to better support the communities they serve. At Capital Group, our mission of improving people’s lives through successful investing extends beyond our clients to the wider community. This initiative reflects our belief that everyone should have access to the tools and confidence needed to make informed financial decisions. The Financial Wellbeing Fellowship is an important part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the financial resilience of communities around the world, and we are proud to support this programme in the UK.”
