Workshops for Key Stages 3-5 (S1-6)

Getting Paid & Spending It

We imagine students have completed their first month in a new job. Young people will explore payslips, what tax is and what it pays for, as well as how to budget.

Savings Sorted

What are goals? And why should we set them? This Workshop introduces saving and explains why we do it, how we can start and how to make the most of our money once we have started saving.

Moving Out & Making Decisions

Students are tasked with finding the best housing options for different case studies. But can they make the budget work, will they need to use credit, do they need insurance, and what other costs do we need to consider when moving out?

Savvy Consumer

Shopping around is a great way to make the most of your money. This workshop explores spending habits and the benefits of shopping around for every day purchases, and financial products, such as bank accounts.

My Money Personality

Knowing more about our money personality can help us understand our spending habits, and enable us to take control of our money. During this Workshops students are encouraged to reflect on their own money personality and think about why it’s important to talk about money.

Protecting My Money

We imagine that students are working in a fraud prevention department at a bank and are tasked with helping customers spot scams. The different types of scams are discussed, and how to protect yourself from them. Spotting the signs of financial abuse is also introduced.

Workshops for Key Stage 4-5 (S4-6)

"My Money" workshops series

The ‘My Money’ Workshops explore the next steps for students thinking about what to do after Post-16 study. Students are encouraged to think about what these different options might mean for them financially and how they can budget accordingly.

Growing My Money

Different ways to invest are explored in this interactive session. Students get to ‘invest’ £100 and safely explore their attitude to risk. Additionally, whilst retirement seems a long way off, we look at why pensions are important and why people start saving early.

Assemblies

Don’t have time for one of our standard Money Workshops? Then our shorter interactive assembly-style Workshops for larger groups are for you!

Plan the Prom

Key Stage 3 (S1-3)
Plan the Prom challenges young people to make tricky spending decisions when planning their prom. Can they agree on how to spend their budget? Will they have some money left over for emergencies? This session is a great introduction to budgeting if you want to reach lots of your young people in a shorter amount of time.

Post 16 Money Essentials Assembly

(S5-6)
Our ‘Money Essentials’ Assembly covers a range of subjects to help students start to think about the next steps to their financial independence. The assembly provides a sound introduction to some key themes, which ideally students can then go away and further research.

Virtual Workshops

We believe that face-to-face Workshops give the best, most interactive experience for engaging young people with Financial Education. But for when this isn’t possible, we can also offer one of our Virtual Workshops.

KS3 Virtual Workshop

(S1-2)
This Workshop is a perfect introduction to essential money skills for students aged 11-13. It explores the real cost of everyday items, how to make smart shopping decisions, and the basics of banking. Students will also learn the importance of budgeting, spending priorities, and saving. A great foundation to build financial confidence early on.

KS4 Virtual Workshop

(S3-4)
This Workshop is designed for students aged 14-16, offering a deeper dive into key personal finance topics. It helps students understand how to spot common scams and fraud. They’ll also explore the importance of budgeting, saving, and spending priorities, alongside gaining a clear understanding of how credit works. Ideal for building the skills needed to take control of their financial future.

Post 16 Money Essentials

(S5-6)
This Workshop provides a sound introduction to several key financial themes. Perfect for the 16-18 age bracket, it looks at some of the financial things to think about and be aware of when taking the next step and moving on to uni, work or apprenticeships. It introduces financial skills and products that students may be faced with as they decide what’s next for them.
