Children and Young People

Why Financial Education Matters

Financial education is a vital life skill that impacts children and young people’s wellbeing into adulthood. Even though research shows starting as early as possible is important, and that children and young people want to learn about money, it is still not happening for a huge number of young people across the UK.

  • Less than half of children (48%) say they’ve had a meaningful Financial Education (MaPS 2024)
  • Spending habits start to form by the age of 7 (MaPS)
  • 3 in 4 teachers say most students leave school or college without key financial skills (MaPS 2023)
  • 80% of teenagers say they want to learn more about money (LFBF 2025)

Barriers such as lack of school timetable time, lack of teacher/practitioner confidence talking about money and a lack of funding for Financial Education mean that more than half of children are not receiving Financial Education. That’s why we do what we do. We bring Financial Education experts into the classroom and youth groups across the UK, spreading the word and increasing knowledge and confidence about money.

What We Offer

We provide a wide range of Financial Education Money Workshops for children and young people across the UK — from primary age (Key Stage 2, P4-7), secondary age (Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, S1-6) to university age, including sessions for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our workshops are delivered in schools, colleges, charities, and community groups.

All sessions are proven to be impactful: over 95% of Children and Young People surveyed reported feeling more confident managing money, and 73% said they’ll discuss money more often with others.
